Vrindavan is said to be the location on the banks of River Yamuna where Lord Krishna grew up.

The city has various temples of different significance, among which, Banke Bihari Temple is Vrindavan’s most revered shrine. The temple deity idole is held concealed behind a curtain from devotees. In the Hindu epic-Mahabharata, Vrindavan is also considered to be one of the seven holiest Hindu sites.
