Itinerary
On arrival at New Jalpaiguri (NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB) meet and greeted by our representative and transfer to Phuensholling (Distance 175 kms 4-5 Hrs). On the way we will drive through Dooars — Phuentsholing / Phuntsholing, the 2nd largest city in Bhutan is on the border of India. Next city of Jaigaon — Phuentsholing is the point of entry for travellers to Bhutan. Upon arrival at Phuensholling check in the hotel and take rest. In the Evening free for your own activity. Overnight stay at Hotel.
In the morning after breakfast Tourist Permit and all the paper work would be done at Phuentsholing. Later we will proceed for Thimphu. It is approximately 175 kms and is nearly 06 hours’ drive from Phuentsholing town. Thimphu is Bhutan’s capital and largest city; it has a population of 104,200. En-route you will see Water Falls & Natural Sightseeing, Chukha Dam (Top View). On arrival check in the Hotel overnight stay.
In the morning after breakfast we will proceed for the local sightseeing and will cover major Sightseeing Covering like Buddha Point, BBS Tower, Tashicchhoe Dzong, The Memorial Chorten, National Library, The Institute of Traditional Medicine, Centenary Farmer Market, Changlimithang Stadium, School of Arts & Crafts, Handicraft Institute, Zangthopelri Lhakhang, Motithang Takin Reserve (Takin Zoo), Semtokha Dzong. In the evening visit local market at Thimphu. Overnight Stay at Hotel.
Punakha is situated at an elevation of 1300 meters / 4265 feet. Punakha is the winter seat of Je Khenpo (the chief abbot) – Its natural drainage from Pho Chhu (male) and Mo Chhu (female) rivers – It offers splendid views of the distant Himalayas at Dochula Pass situated at an elevation of 3050 meters / 10065 feet on Thimphu. The pass is also popular spiritual place for both locals and tourists because of an important temple that is located on the crest of Dochula pass. Visit Punakha Dzong. Punakha Dzong was strategically built at the confluence of the Pho Chu (male) and Mo Chu (female) rivers by the first Shabdrung of Bhutan, Ngawang Namgyel in 1637. Drive back to reach Thimpu – Check into your hotel on arrival – Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Phuentsholling 175 kms drive from Thimpu. On arrival check in the hotel and take some rest evening free to roam around local market. Overnight Stay at Hotel in Phuentsholing.
In the morning after breakfast check out from Hotel Transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Siliguri. In route visit the foothills of Himalaya it is plain forested area and beautiful Tea Garden.
