Kullu is a resort town situated on the banks of the Beas River, in Himachal Pradesh, Indian state. It is the district capital city of Kullu. It is a city which flows through the famous Beas River. It is home to some of the most spectacular landscapes such as the iconic Rohtang Pass, Beas Kund, and Lake Chandrataal. The festival will take place in the October / November months. The State Government has granted the Kullu Dussehra the status of International Festival, which attracts large numbers of tourists.
Best time to Visit Kullu
Between April to June summer season and from October to December winter season is the best time to visit Kullu when the weather remains good and pleasant for sightseeing. Now is the season for outdoor sports such as trekking, river rafting, climbing, paragliding, etc.
How to Reach Kullu
By Road – By Road the best possible way to get to Kullu. From Delhi, Gurgaon, Manali, Chandigarh, and Shimla there are direct buses to there. Unless you live outside these cities then you can take a bus from there to Delhi and then get on a bus to Kullu.
By Train – At present Kullu has no railway station of its own. However, Jogindernagar Railway Station is about 125 km from Kullu, and is linked via Chandigarh to all major cities.
By Air – The airport of Bhuntar is located just 10 kms from Kullu. You can easily take a bus to any part of Kullu, or hire a car from the airport.
