How to Reach the Valley of Flowers

By Air

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 292 km from the Valley of Flowers. From the airport, one can hire a taxi or take a bus to Govindghat, the base camp for the trek to the valley.

By Train

The closest railway station is Rishikesh, around 273 km from the Valley of Flowers. From Rishikesh, you can take a taxi or a bus to Govindghat.

By Road

Govindghat is well connected by road and can be reached via private vehicle, taxi, or bus from major cities like Dehradun, Haridwar, and Rishikesh.

Trekking Route

From Govindghat, visitors must trek approximately 13 km to Ghangaria, which serves as the base for the final trek to the Valley of Flowers. The trek from Ghangaria to the valley is about 4 km.

Visitors need to obtain an entry permit from the Forest Department. These permits can be acquired at the entry gate in Ghangaria.

Trekking Regulations

• Group Size: Trekking groups should be kept small to minimize environmental impact.

• Timing: The valley is open to visitors from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Overnight stays within the valley are prohibited.
