Jaigarh Fort is a massive fort on Rajasthan’s Aravalli Ranges, standing above sea level at an imposing height of 500 metres. The fort was founded by the famous Raja Jai Singh II in 1726 as a means of fortifying the Fort Amer. It is one of Jaipur’s most distinctive historical sites, and has many unique features that make it unique. From the Jaigarh Fort, you can see an unimpeded view of Amer Fort and its complex, as well as a stunning view of the green hills and lakes surrounding the fort.
Within the premises you can find the largest canon in the world, which is called the Jaivana Cannon. The cannon itself was installed inside the Jaigarh Fort, and is said to have participated in many famous battles and wars in Rajput. Other attractions inside the fort include the Mandir Vilas, Mandir Aram, Vilas Laxmi and Mandir Lalit. The Jaigarh Fort’s original purpose was to store guns, ammunition, armors, and supplies for the Amer Fort in the event of a battle. It is now an important historical monument itself, with tourists coming from far and wide to get a glimpse of the rich culture and history of the Amer Rajputs. The monument is about 3 kilometers long, and is 1 kilometer high.
