Shrikhand Mahadev is one of the Panch Kailash yatra. It is one of the most beautiful trek although daunting. The pristine beauty echoes with the sound of nature all over as you meet beautiful rivers, vast green meadows, and breathtaking mountain views. Nature is at its pristine best and the chants of Har har Mahadev can be heard loud and clear by the devotees.
You can feel the Lord Shiva’s presence everywhere during the journey and is a good way to get into the trek to seek his blessings. Srikhand Mahadev is in Himachal Pradesh at Kullu District which is a familiar place while reaching Manali. The Shivling-shaped rock is in its pristine formation with a 75 ft tall rock structure that gives the presence of Lord Shiva.
Trekking requires huge stamina and is ideal for people with good build and physique. It is consider to be India’s most difficult shrine and is at a height of 16404 ft to 16864 above sea level. It offers pleasing views of the Himalayan ranges with the Parvati Valley of Kartik mountains, the Rangrik ranges of Kinnaur, the Parvati Valley of Kullu, and Kinnar Kailash.There are several nearby peaks southwest of Sutlej that are visible from the summit. The yatra kick starts on Ashadha Poornima which is full moon day in June or July. Not only the devotees but the adventure lovers also reach the peak to enjoy the pristine beauty. It is a trip to remember for climbers and hikers too.
By air: Jubbarhatti, Shimla is the nearby airport. It is at the Jaon town of Nirmand, where the trekking and hike starts. It is easy to reach through road transportation.
By rail: Shimla is one of the closest rail stations. The journey is with a starting point at Jaon village at a distance of 170 km from Shimla. You can reach Kalka from all parts of India, From there on you can take a toy train to Shimla.
By road: The road link connects Shimla to Jaon village. It takes only five hours to travel by car and reach base camp from Shimla. The final route of 8 km from Bagipul to Jaon is on the Kutcha road stretch.
Shrikhand Mahadev weather: Shrikhand Mahadev weather is ideal for journeys from July to August. The weather is favorable for the trek. All the year round the weather makes it difficult to reach the peak. It is bone-chilling cold during the winters with temperatures always below minus degrees.
Accommodation: Accommodation is available at Kullu and Shimla as there are many backpackers lodges and hotels. There is 3-star to 5-star accommodation available although, in the trekking area, there are fewer accommodations homestays could be found once you do a trip with us.
Sightseeing: This is an arduous trekking route but offers scintillating beauty that connects with the beautiful terrain. It makes you feel elated with beautiful peak views, pristine weather, and lush green meadows. It is certainly a place to be for the Shiva devotees and trekking enthusiasts.
