Chamera Lake

Chamera Lake is a manmade lake located in Himachal Pradesh district of Chourah, in Chamba. The Lake is created by the Ravi River Chamera Dam, situated at an altitude of 1700 metres. It is a significant source of the villagers’ water supply and is continuously supplied by the Ravi River. Near by is the Chamera Hydel Electric Plant, one of Himachal Pradesh’s big hydel projects. Nestled in a valley surrounded by pine trees, the lake is an ideal location for sports such as fishing, angling and boating. Himachal Pradesh Department of Tourism has built a boat house adjacent to Taleru Lake. This place provides water sports facilities such as motor boating, canoeing, and kayaking. The visitors also have access to paddle boats and rowing vessels, other than water sports.
