Bhagsunath Temple

One of the ancient temples in McLeod Ganj which is popular. The Temple of Bhagsunath also known as the Temple of Bhagsu Nag. The temple is dedicated to the main deity of Lord Shiva, and the Bhagsu Nag. Bhagsunath Mandir is an ancient temple which King Bhagsu of Rajasthan believed to have constructed. The present temple of Bhagsunath was built in the early 19th century by 1st Gurkha Rifles and mostly worshipped by 14 platoon villages of Gurkha in Dharamshala. There are a set of pools next to the temple building where the Buddhist monks and tourists enjoy baths. An annual fair is held at this temple in the month of September which attracts tourists from all over the world.
