Sardar Government Museum is situated in the middle of the beautiful Umaid Public Gardens, on Jodhpur’s High Court Lane. It is one of Rajasthan’s most famous museum, and is also one of Jodhpur’s best places to visit. The museum is known for its unique collection of bygone period historic artifacts. Within the museum there are numerous displays and galleries that include miniature paintings, textiles, stuffed animals such as birds, arms and local crafts. In 1909 Sardar Government Museum was established. The museum property also include a public library and a zoo. The museum includes a special attraction for children. The sight of stuffed animals, including a variety of desert birds in two glass cases, each with a thorn bush, excites the children.
