The Lake Palace

The Udaipur Lake Palace is situated on Jag Niwas Island, on a 1.5-hectare spacious site. Maharana Jagat Singh built the splendid structure on Lake Pichola in 1734. Once a summer palace for Udaipur’s kings, it has now been converted into a heritage hotel. Still maintaining its grandeur, it resembles a kingdom of fairy tales. The rippling waves and the breathtaking sunset are to intensify the mystical atmosphere. This position is added to the beauty by the intricate craftsmanship and elegant handicrafts and textiles. The luxurious white marble palace is a dream, as it gently appears from the blue waters. The base of this palace was laid with 4 acres of rock and was known as Jag Niwas.

The highlights of the palace include fountains, gardens, pillared terraces, painted doors, construction of pink stone, leaves of lotus and arches of cusp. Many of the apartments in here include Dhola Mahal, Bada Mahal, Phool Mahal, Ajjan Niwas and Kush Mahal. The palace offers various facilities for guests such as the swimming pool, bar, restaurants, café, and conference hall. There is also a 24 hour business center and 8 meeting rooms with completely upgraded corporate meeting and conference facilities. There are 12 banquet halls for dinner parties, wedding parties and other related events in here.
