One of Sikkim’s few undiscovered villages, Darap has over the years preserved the pristine quality of its flora and fauna. It is located at 1600 m above sea level and the temperature here ranges from -5 to 28 degrees. This village is in the inner surface of the Himalayan belt, and it was discovered and prepared for tourism only recently. From ancient times, the local people known as Limboos have preserved their rich culture and traditions and are highly friendly by nature. There are many tourist-related activities that can be done in Darap village such as trekking, traditional house visits, handicraft making, bird-watching and visiting the Kanchenjunga National Park caves etc.
